Steptember is an international, month long fitness challenge that encourages participants to get out and get active. Steptember Northwest is our local challenge to build a healthy, active, and inclusive community in the Puget Sound.
Each participant will receive a Steptember kit containing a pedometer, "get active" information, and a fundraising booklet. They will also gain access to the interactive Steptember site to track their steps, challenge their friends, and interact with participants from around the world. Teams of 4 compete against other teams in steps taken and dollars raised.
Each participant is challenged to walk 10,000 steps a day and, as a team, virtually climb the highest peak on each continent. Activities to rack-up steps include walking, running, cycling, swimming or even playing lawn games to reach the daily step target. More than 40 activities can be converted to steps, including activities suitable for people with disabilities.
