Employment and Community Services
It is the mission of Employment Services to:
• Promote community presence and inclusion
• Expand and foster individual support networks
• Create and support opportunities for community contributions for individuals with significant disabilities

To accomplish our mission we will support people with disabilities to:
• Secure and retain competitive employment
• Increase wages, benefits, job tasks and work hours as appropriate
• Establish connections to and contribute to their communities
• Develop relationships with a variety of individuals
• Engage in a wide range of activities
• Assist families and individuals to better understand the impact of wages on Social Security benefits and healthcare

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES TEAM

 

PROVAIL Employment Services encompasses a highly qualified team of professionals.  Employment Consultants are college educated and/or have at least two years experience in the field of disabilities. All Employment Consultants must pass annual background checks and maintain certification in CPR, first aid and Blood Borne Pathogen/HIV/AIDS training.  They also receive competence based training in Positive Behavioral Supports, Social Security issues, Job Development, Boundaries, Systematic Instruction, Job Carving and Creation, Emergency Preparedness, Customized Employment, Mandated Reporting and the development of Person Centered Plans.  Continuing education is promoted for all staff with ongoing training in best practices.

 

 

ACCREDITATION

 

PROVAIL has been accredited for a period of three years by CARF for the following services:  job development, job-site training, job supports, transition services and employment planning.  This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization.   An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-0site visit that it s programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.

On-site Training & Orientation
• Work with the employee to ensure there is a through understanding of the new position
• Assist with tailoring the job to reflect the skills and assets of the employee

Ongoing Support
• Continue to provide assistance as needed
• Assist with ongoing career goals

• Provide access to individuals who want to work and make a contribution

On-Site Training and Orientation
• Educate co-workers about effective communication and teaching skills
• Work together to design and implement training and support strategies for the new employee

Ongoing Support
• Continue working with employers and co-workers to assure employee support
• Work with the employee when the job changes or new tasks are added
