PROVAIL provides rehabilitation services as well as occupational and speech therapies to help children and adults with disabilities maximize their abilities and independence.

There is the option to allocate a dollar amount less than the purchase price to help pay for part of an item. All donations are tax deductible.

mirrorLarge portable mirror - Glass mirror with safety backing, frame, and rolling base, 69” high by 24” wide by 18”deep (must have wheels).

Benefit - A mirror is useful to provide visual feedback to clients trying to maintain and recognize their posture which helps them to develop self-concept and is useful in performing various self-care activities.
Cost - $300

lomakLomak - Light Operated Mouse And Keyboard (Evaluation Center version) - Lomak allows state-of-the-art light sensor technology to operate a computer. A hand or head pointer controls a beam of light that enters, then confirms the key or mouse function. By confirming each key, only the correct selection is entered, reducing errors and increasing the speed of operation.

Benefit - Lomak has been designed for people who have trouble using a standard mouse and keyboard including people with Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Atrophy or Dystrophy, Tetraplegia, Quadriplegia, Arthritis, people recovering from injury, or any injury that prevents keyboard operation.
Cost - $1,795

softtouch"Switching On" software series - SoftTouch's Switching On Series is standards-based curriculum software for students with disabilities. The series includes American History, Earth, Habitats, the Solar System and others.

Benefit - These programs help students improve their audio and visual attending skills, help to increase their choice making skills, and improve their auditory comprehension and listening. The Switching On Series correlates to state science and American history standards providing age-appropriate and accessible curriculum.
Cost - $49 to $115

UnityUnity reading project - Unity is the vocabulary program that is used in Prentke Romich communication devices. The core vocabulary of Unity was carefully chosen to be useful to all augmentative communicators.

Benefit - The Unity Reading Project takes core vocabulary and breaks it up into 40 units of word banks. Practice sentences are also included for the user to practice the vocabulary in context. We have many kids and adults who are learning vocabulary but still have difficulty with applying what they learn. This activity program gives family, our staff and others ideas on how to teach these words to them and gives us access to activities that we can use right away with users at all levels.
Cost - $50

Easy ShareAdapted Kodak EasyShare C530 Digital Camera and AP-M-AA Camera Mounting System - Camera: A Kodak EasyShare C530 digital camera is adapted for use with a single switch. Mount: Articulated Arm with MiniClamp.

Benefit - The mount works well with the Adapted Kodak EasyShare C530 digital camera. It clamps easily to table or wheelchair for appropriate positioning of the camera. Many of the children and adults we serve relate more to pictures than to icons. This would help them relate to making choices and give them more control in developing their communication devices and communication books.
Cost – Camera: $150, Mount: $100

OnyxOnyx II Fingertip Pulse Oximeter - To check and monitor pulse and oxygen levels.

Benefit - Used to collect data about oxygen levels for clients with respiratory effects from seating/positioning. This data could be used in letters of medical necessity to obtain crucial durable medical equipment for clients.
Cost - $600

Dragon Naturally SpeakingDragon Naturally Speaking Pro. Ver. 9 - The current version of the speech recognition application leading the field.

Benefit - This would replace our out of date "Dragon Naturally Speaking" version 7, giving users’ access to the better speech recognition engine and newer features.
Cost - $795
